Meet Dr. Sultan
Hi! I am Dr. Leslie Sultan. Thank you for stopping by! I am a Board Certified, Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I am also a Fellow of the American Association and College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
I am originally from Brooklyn, NY. After completing undergraduate and graduate studies in chemistry, I chose to study dentistry at the University of Maryland. I completed my internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital and my residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.
I've practiced in Broward County since 1990 and hold licenses in both Florida and New York. Aside from private practice, I donate time to the treatment of overseas patients with skeletal/facial deformities. I have served as Chief of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at two local hospitals and am an associate professor at Nova Southeastern University. I have lectured throughout the community on many topics concerning Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
To appreciate my spare time, I enjoy many types of fitness activities, including running, cycling, pilates and tennis. I am an avid collector of mechanical watches and am enjoying the process of relearning the acoustic guitar.
In addition to educational training, some oral surgeons choose to undergo a rigorous written and oral examination given by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to become board certified and achieve diplomate status.
Although board certification is not required to practice oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Sultan has completed these examinations and earned board certification in 1992. In addition, Dr. Sultan passed the recredentialing process of his board certification in 2002.
